EH003: Dr John McDougall on Reversing Disease With Carbs & Starch

In Episode 3 of Eternal Health, I interview renowned medical doctor John McDougall. He has been in medical practice for almost 50 years and what makes him different from most practitioners is that he uses diet to reverse his patients’ diseases and get them into great health and vitality.

John has been studying, writing, and speaking about the effects of nutrition on disease since 1968. He believes that people should look and feel great, and enjoy optimal health for a lifetime – and he has the stats to back this up.

He’s is the founder of The McDougall Program which helps people gain control back over their health and astoundingly, his participants are able to stop all unnecessary medications, avoid surgery, improve their appearance and regain lost fitness.

So what is Dr McDougall’s approach to health? He has developed a nourishing, low-fat, starch-based diet that not only promotes a broad range of dramatic and lasting health benefits, such as weight (fat) loss, but most importantly can also reverse serious illness, such as heart disease, type-2 diabetes, and arthritis, without drugs. He helps people to stop unnecessary medications and avoid, whenever possible, tests, surgeries, and other treatments and to get out of the medical system.

I have been following his work for many years and my Mum and Dad have benefited from his work too and improved their diet from following a combination of my Alkaline 5 Diet program and John’s approach.

John is a strong character – many people have described him as a health rebel. He’s fearless in promoting a diet and lifestyle that works for great health and his animated style and personality come across in our interview!
