EH004: How To Have Systematic Good Health – Body, Mind & Spirit

Listen to this week’s episode of the Eternal Health Podcast with Laura:

Great health is a system! We humans are a system of three parts – body, mind/soul and spirit. We have a material part – body and immaterial part – mind and spirit. We need to pay attention to all three to have great health. In this episode we explore how to approach our health in a systematic way and have fail-safe great results.

I’ve been reading ‘Work the System’ by Sam Carpenter on how to implement systems in my business. He says that systems are interconnected but separate and we need to work on each one to have a healthy whole.

Here are the three over-arching systems of you:

Body – functional, sense, nerves, brain, organs and cells, digestive system, immune system, endocrine system, respiratory system. Chemicals and enzymes and carbohydrates and proteins and fats. Your body is how we connect to the physical world.

Mind/Soul (your mind, will and emotions = your soul) – personality, conscious mind (thinking and reasoning), subconscious mind (beliefs, attitudes, worldview, memories, emotions, feelings), the will (choices). Our mind is connected to our body through endocrine nervous and immune systems.

Spirit – purpose, meaning, love. Our spirit allows us to love God and others. Through spirit we have fellowship with God. Spirit gives us moral compass.
